Some cats have adverse reaction to the sound and texture of plastic bag.

Falling in love with cats is easy. Entirely too easy if you ask us, or our five feline companions that share our home with us. As with any pet there are going to be special considerations to take into account. Daily, weekly, and monthly tasks must be attended to keep your pets happy and healthy. With indoor cats comes the inevitable litter box scooping and scrubbing. While the daily task of scooping the litter boxes never seemed much of a chore, the biweekly scrubbing of the litter pans became a dreaded task. It seemed to us that no matter how much we scrubbed or what type of cleaning solution we used, we were always left with a freshly scrubbed litter box that somehow still smelled dirty. This was not going to work for us, and we knew there had to be a better solution.

Maybe, we thought, if we got an oversized automated litter box somehow that would solve our problems. So we got one and hoped for the best. Within several weeks we began to smell familiar lingering smells and began to disassemble the litter contraption for a good scrub. We soon found the disassembly, scrubbing, drying, and reassembly to take more time than daily scooping of litter boxes and disinfecting time combined. The litter box robot was out, and my wallet was significantly lighter.

Back to the standard litter boxes, but still no solution to the scrubbing. We had seen litter box liners advertised online, but they looked like plastic trash bags and we were hesitant that they would not hold up to the cats digging, but decided to give them a try anyways. Within days all of the liners had been torn through, trapping soiled litter between the liner and the litter pan. Within a week the liners were in the trash and we decided it was up to us to create a litter box liner that works.

We knew we needed a material that was sturdy enough to withstand the cats natural inclination to dig in their litter box, it had to hold up to multiple weeks of usage by our colony of cats, and the material had to be cost effective. After a year of trial and error testing out different designs and materials we finally had a litter box liner that checked all of the boxes. Our liner consists of an outer shell of paper to give the liner structure and keep the liner in place, an absorbent layer, and a poly coated layer on the inside to resist moisture and claws when the cat is digging.

Ultimately as cat lovers we had found the perfect solution to scrubbing litter boxes, and dealing with stinky-clean pans. If you have read along this far we are confident that our litter box liners can solve those same problems for you too. Give KattekopLiners a try and start spending more of your free time enjoying your cats, and less time cleaning up after them!
